The SOMMOS Crianza Somontano D.O.P. 2022 is an expressive Spanish red wine from Aragón, at the foot of the Pyrenees. It is made exclusively from the three international grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot, which find ideal ripening conditions in Somontano thanks to the calcareous and gravelly soils and the continental climate. The cool nights and warm days of the high altitude enable a long growing season, allowing the grapes to develop their complex flavours, balance and elegant structure.


After careful manual harvesting, the wine is vinified using modern cellar technology. The wine then matures for 12 months in oak barrels, giving it its complexity, depth and spicy finesse. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., the SOMMOS Crianza 2022 combines the intensity of Cabernet Sauvignon, the spiciness of Syrah and the soft fruitiness of Merlot to create a harmonious cuvée. Tasting Note

The SOMMOS Crianza 2022 presents itself in the glass in an intense cherry red colour with violet reflections. The nose reveals ripe aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and plums, accompanied by subtle notes of vanilla, cocoa and spices from the barrel ageing. It is round and harmonious on the palate, with ripe tannins, juicy fruit, elegant spice and a long, lingering finish.

This Crianza from Somontano is an excellent accompaniment to grilled or braised meat, lamb chops, hearty stews or game dishes. It is also an ideal accompaniment to mature cheese or Mediterranean pasta dishes with flavoursome sauces. It unfolds its full spectrum of flavours at a serving temperature of 16-18 °C. A versatile red wine that is perfect for both festive occasions and social evenings.
