Planteray Xaymaca Special Dry Jamaican Rum is an authentic Jamaican pot still rum that brings the heritage and distinctive character of the classic Jamaican ‘Rum Funk’ back to life. With an alcohol content of 43% vol., this exceptional rum marks a return to the intense, powerful flavours that made 19th-century Jamaican rums world-famous.


Planteray Xaymaca is made from 100% pot still rums – a traditional distillation method that produces particularly aromatic, complex spirits. The blend originates from two of Jamaica’s most renowned distilleries: the Long Pond Distillery and Clarendon Distillery Ltd. It is based on the finest molasses, which is fermented for between one and three weeks, depending on the distillery, to produce maximum flavour and depth. Distillation takes place in classic copper stills (John Dore & Vendome pot stills).


The rum is initially matured in bourbon casks in Jamaica under tropical conditions before being transported to France for further refinement, where it acquires its elegant, dry finish in Ferrand oak casks – a process that bears the signature of Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel.

Nose: Expressive, with tropical fruits, banana, pineapple, vanilla and spicy wood.

Palate: Dry, complex and intense with notes of citrus, banana, green apple, pepper, oak and a hint of smoke.
