The Coto De Imaz Rioja Reserva 2021 is an outstanding Spanish red wine from the famous Rioja DOCa region, which is recognised worldwide for its elegant Tempranillo wines. Produced by the renowned El Coto de Rioja winery, it reflects the great tradition of the Rioja Reservas and combines classic craftsmanship with modern vinification methods.


The grapes come from first-class vineyards whose climate and soils provide ideal conditions for the Tempranillo grape variety. Manual harvesting guarantees the highest quality, as only the best grapes are used for vinification. After maceration, the wine matures for at least 12 months in American and French oak barrels, developing its typical flavours of wood, vanilla and fine spice. This is followed by longer ageing in the bottle, which gives it additional complexity and elegance. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., the Coto De Imaz Reserva 2021 is a powerful yet balanced Rioja with great ageing potential.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Coto De Imaz Reserva presents itself in a deep ruby red colour, reminiscent of the classic expressiveness of the Tempranillo grape. The nose reveals a multi-layered bouquet of dark berries such as blackberries and blackcurrants, accompanied by notes of vanilla, caramel and fine spice. On the palate, it delights with a harmonious balance of fruit and acidity, silky tannins and an elegant structure. The long, lingering finish rounds off the flavour experience in style.

This Reserva made from 100% Tempranillo is the ideal accompaniment to hearty meat dishes such as lamb, beef or game, but also goes perfectly with Iberian tapas, mature Manchego or aromatic pasta. Served at 16-18 °C, it unfolds its full potential. With its elegance and depth, it is ideal for special occasions as well as for cellar storage.
