Description
Description
Beneva Mezcal with Agave Worm 100% Agave DOP 38% Vol. 0.7 l comes from the Mexican state of Oaxaca, the traditional and protected area of origin (D.O.P.) for high-quality mezcal. The climatic conditions there and the mineral-rich soil are ideal for the growth of the Espadín agave, whose heart - the so-called piña - is harvested after around nine years of ripening. The sugary juices are extracted from this piña, which are fermented and distilled using an artisanal process that is over 200 years old. This elaborate production process guarantees a 100% natural product that preserves the authentic character of traditional mezcal and makes Beneva one of Mexico's leading export mezcals.
The name Benevá comes from the Zapotec language and means "the oldest, the wise, the experienced". It symbolises respect, knowledge and responsibility that have been passed down through generations - values that are also reflected in the production of this mezcal. The label features the goddess Thirteen Serpents, inspired by tomb 19 at the archaeological site of Monte Albán, a symbol of wisdom and spiritual power. Beneva Mezcal is matured in white oak barrels, which gives it additional depth and fine woody notes. The speciality: Each bottle contains a real maguey worm, a traditional symbol of strength, purity and the originality of Mexican spirits culture.
Tasting Note
Colour: Light gold with light amber reflections.
Nose: Earthy agave notes, smoke, oak and a hint of vanilla.
Flavour: Soft and balanced, with smoky accents, agave, wood and subtle spicy notes.
Finish: Langs, round and slightly sweet with nuances of herbs, wood and smoke.
Beneva Mezcal with Agave Worm is ideal to enjoy neat, slightly chilled or at room temperature to fully develop the complex interplay of flavours. It is traditionally served with orange slices and a pinch of Sal de Gusano (Werder salt). It also reveals its depth and elegance as an ingredient in classic cocktails such as Mezcal Margarita or Oaxacan Old Fashioned. It is an excellent culinary accompaniment to grilled meat, tacos al pastor, spicy vegetables or smoked fish. An authentic mezcal for connoisseurs who appreciate the combination of Mexican tradition, craftsmanship and nature.
