Description
Description
The Djokovic Chardonnay 13.5% ABV, 0.75 l, is a modern Serbian white wine that impressively represents the up-and-coming wine region of Šumadija. Produced near Topola in central Serbia, this Serbian white wine embodies precision, passion and an uncompromising commitment to quality. The project is led by Goran Djokovic, uncle of the world-famous tennis star Novak Djokovic, whose name draws international attention to Serbian wine culture.
The cuvée blends Chardonnay with Viognier, harmoniously combining freshness, structure and aromatic depth. The vineyards benefit from hilly slopes, fertile mixed soils and diverse microclimates – conditions that have been utilised for viticulture since Roman times. The region around Oplenac is historically regarded as the heart of Serbian winemaking tradition. The wine is vinified with the clear aim of preserving elegance and balance without overpowering the fruit. With an alcohol content of 13.5% vol., the Djokovic Chardonnay is harmonious, well-structured and well-suited to an international audience.
Tasting Note
In the glass, the Djokovic Chardonnay displays a pale golden-yellow colour with brilliant clarity. On the nose, ripe yellow fruits, floral nuances and subtle exotic notes unfold. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced, fresh and elegant, with a harmonious structure and delicate minerality. The finish is clean, precise and pleasantly long-lasting.
Residual sugar: 1.84 g/l
The Djokovic Chardonnay from Šumadija is a versatile accompaniment to fish, seafood, poultry and white meat. It pairs particularly well with grilled sea bass, scallops, pasta with light sauces or Mediterranean starters. This high-quality Serbian white wine also reveals its elegant structure when paired with creamy risotto or mild soft cheeses. Served at 8–10°C, it is ideal as a sophisticated aperitif or an accompaniment to fine cuisine.
