The James Eadie Aberfeldy 12 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited-edition release from the renowned ‘The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland’ range. Only 644 bottles of this exceptional whisky were bottled in 2025 – following 12 years’ maturation in two first-fill bourbon hogsheads, which were filled in 2013. This limited edition epitomises the philosophy of James Eadie, who is dedicated to preserving and documenting Scottish distilling culture.


The independent bottler James Eadie is renowned for his hand-selected single malts and small-batch creations, which are always bottled at cask strength, without chill filtration and in their natural colour. The ‘The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland’ series is based on the historical work of James Eadie himself, who, between 1922 and 1929, visited, documented and photographed a total of 124 distilleries together with his team. This impressive collection was compiled by his great-great-grandson, Rupert Patrick, in a book that now serves as the basis for the selection and design of the individual whiskies. Each label therefore features an illustration based on a historical photograph of the respective distillery – in the case of the Aberfeldy 12 Years Old, a photograph from the distillery’s early years adorns the bottle.

The James Eadie Aberfeldy 12 Years Old reveals its full complexity when enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a splash of water to bring out the fruity notes. Culinary, it pairs superbly with mild hard cheeses, smoked salmon or white meat dishes such as chicken in a honey and mustard sauce. It also reveals an elegant balance between sweetness and spice when paired with vanilla or caramel desserts, such as crème brûlée or apple pie.
