The PURIST Pet. Nat. Rosé 2023 is a fascinating natural wine and a prime example of modern craftsmanship in winemaking. This Pétillant Naturel, or Pet Nat for short, is produced using the oldest method of bottle fermentation, in which the still-fermenting must is sealed directly in the bottle. This creates the natural, fine effervescence that makes this style of wine so distinctive. The 2023 vintage, with an alcohol content of 12% vol., is a lively, authentic sparkling wine full of character and energy.


The cuvée consists of Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot – three grape varieties that lend the wine structure, fruit and spice. The grapes come from sustainably managed vineyards and are carefully harvested by hand to preserve their natural aromas. Filtration and fining are deliberately avoided – the wine remains natural and unfiltered, which gives it its authentic cloudiness and original vibrancy. Fermented and matured on its fine lees, the PURIST Pet. Nat. Rosé reflects the philosophy of its name: pure, genuine, artisanal and unadulterated. On the nose, aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, pink grapefruit and delicate yeasty notes unfold, complemented by a subtle spiciness from the Bordeaux grape varieties used. On the palate, it is crisp, lively and fresh, with a harmonious interplay of fruit and minerality. Aromas of redcurrant, rhubarb and delicate herbal spice lend depth and intrigue. The finish is dry, clean and long-lasting, with a subtle yeasty texture and a salty freshness – a wine with soul and character.
