It is produced at the historic Hacienda Santa Teresa, which was founded as far back as 1796 and remains family-owned to this day. The rum is produced using the intricate Solera process, which originated in sherry production. In this process, younger and older rums are blended together over many years to achieve an exceptionally harmonious depth and complexity. Santa Teresa 1796 is matured in carefully selected oak casks, which give it its velvety texture, warm colour and rich spectrum of aromas.
