Hine RARE VSOP The Original Fine Champagne Cognac is a premium Fine Champagne Cognac from the long-established Maison Hine, whose history dates back to 1763. As a Fine Champagne Cognac, it is made exclusively from eaux-de-vie from the renowned Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus, with Grande Champagne accounting for at least 50 per cent of the blend. A distinctive feature of the production process is double distillation on the fine lees, which preserves additional aromatic depth and structure. The selected eaux-de-vie are then matured in lightly toasted, fine-pored oak casks, ensuring that the influence of the wood is deliberately kept elegant and preserving Hine’s characteristic, finely balanced style.


Hine RARE VSOP is bottled at 40 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle and combines traditional Cognac production with deliberately restrained cask ageing. It is precisely the combination of double distillation with the lees and ageing in lightly toasted, fine-pored oak casks that contributes to the elegant character of this bottling. Hine prioritises finesse and harmony rather than allowing the Cognac to be dominated by intense toasty aromas from the wood. The combination of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, distillation on the fine lees and carefully selected oak makes Hine Rare a signature VSOP from the house and an interesting choice for connoisseurs of classic French Fine Champagne cognacs.
