Gancia Asti DOCG 7.5% ABV is a classic, delicately sparkling Italian sparkling wine from the heart of Piedmont, synonymous with pure joie de vivre, freshness and aromatic elegance. This fine Asti is produced by the long-established Gancia house, which has been one of the pioneers of sparkling wine production in Italy since 1850 and is regarded as the founder of the Asti tradition. The wine is produced exclusively from 100% Moscato Bianco, the queen of aromatic grape varieties, whose delicate nutmeg note lends this Asti its unmistakable character.

The grapes come from the sun-drenched hills around Canelli, where calcareous and sandy soils create ideal conditions for aromatic, juicy wines. Following a gentle hand harvest, fermentation takes place using the Charmat method in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature to preserve the fresh primary aromas of the Moscato grape. The result is a delicately sparkling, fruit-forward Asti with a seductive bouquet, pleasant sweetness and refreshing lightness – an authentic expression of Piedmontese craftsmanship.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Gancia Asti DOCG displays a pale, brilliant golden-yellow colour with a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, intense aromas of white peaches, mace, honey and orange blossom unfold, accompanied by a hint of tropical fruit. On the palate, it is smooth, lively and sweetly fruity, with a delicate balance between sweetness and freshness. The finish is long, harmonious and floral, characterised by the grape variety’s typical nutmeg notes.

Gancia Asti DOCG is a versatile sparkling wine that delights both as an elegant aperitif and as the ideal accompaniment to desserts. It is perfect with fruity desserts such as strawberry tiramisu, lemon tart, panna cotta or fresh fruit salads. It also pairs excellently with delicate puff pastries, sorbets or creamy desserts featuring vanilla and honey. It is also ideal as a refreshing treat with brunch, light afternoon pastries or at festive occasions. Served at 6–8 °C in a sparkling wine glass, it displays its fine effervescence and fragrant bouquet with the utmost elegance. It is best enjoyed between 2024 and 2027, though it reveals its lively freshness and fruity intensity most beautifully when young – an Asti that embodies pure Italian charm and lightness.
