The Rum Company TONKA TONKA with 40% vol. in a 0.7-litre bottle is an exceptional flavoured rum speciality that combines exotic spice, maturity and precision craftsmanship. This creation was developed by The Rum Company in close collaboration with the renowned spice expert Ingo Holland from the "Altes Gewürzamt" in Klingenberg. The aim of this collaboration was to identify the optimal tonka bean to refine a long-matured rum with an intense yet elegant flavour.


The tonka beans used come from the tonka bean tree, which grows mainly in northern South America, particularly in Brazil, but also in Trinidad and in tropical regions of Africa. The seeds of this tree are known for their distinctive fragrance, which evokes associations of vanilla, almonds, caramel and marzipan. In TONKA TONKA, tonka beans are deliberately used to add depth and complexity to an already mature rum. The careful flavouring creates an independent spirit that combines classic rum structure with exotic spice and clearly stands out from the mainstream.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light amber.

Nose: Spicy and sweet at the same time, strongly scented, with a pronounced tonka bean.

Taste: Complex and multi-layered, clearly matured rum, intense flavours, pronounced woody notes, strong mouthfeel, hints of cinnamon, bitter almond, vanilla and marzipan, dominated by tonka bean.

Langs: Very long-lasting, dry, woody notes, tonka bean and vanilla, pleasant sweetness with distinct roasted flavours.

Rum Company TONKA TONKA is ideal for pure enjoyment, ideally at a calm drinking temperature to fully appreciate the complex flavours. It is particularly harmonious after a full-bodied meal or as an expressive digestif. This tonka bean rum speciality also shows its strengths in small sips with dark chocolate, desserts with marzipan or nutty components. Due to its intense, long-lasting character, this flavoured rum is intended less as a mix base and more as a stand-alone pleasure product for special moments.
