The Dieter Meier Puro Malbec BIO 2023 is a powerful, expressive organic Malbec from Mendoza that reflects the typical Argentine style with clarity, depth and elegance. The grapes come from the renowned Mendoza region, specifically Luján de Cuyo, where the vines grow on sandy soils and find ideal conditions for producing concentrated, well-structured Malbecs. After being hand-harvested, the grapes are selected and gently processed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to precisely bring out the fruit and varietal character. The wine then matures on the fine lees for several months, which lends it additional density, harmony and depth. With an alcohol content of 14.5%, the 2023 vintage is powerful, full-bodied and, at the same time, well-balanced. The organic vinification process underlines the purist ethos of Dieter Meier’s Puro Linie.

In the glass, this organic Malbec from Argentina displays high concentration and a clear structure. The combination of intense fruit, subtle spice and mineral freshness makes it very approachable even when young, whilst also offering complexity. The wine really reveals its aromatic depth and powerful character when served at a temperature of 15 to 18 °C.

Tasting Note

In the glass, a deep purple-red colour with great density. On the nose, intense aromas of morello cherry, plum, blueberry and blackcurrant, accompanied by cinnamon, cocoa bean and oriental spices. On the palate, it is fruit-driven, dense and velvety, with a powerful structure and excellent balance. The finish is long-lasting, with mineral notes and a striking character.

The Dieter Meier Puro Malbec Organic 2023 pairs superbly with lamb ragout, particularly when combined with chickpeas and dried fruit, as well as with bœuf bourguignon, braised beef dishes or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs. This Malbec from Mendoza also comes into its own with grilled beef or hearty oven-baked dishes. Furthermore, it shines as a characterful stand-alone wine for moments of intense enjoyment, whenever a full-bodied, fruit-driven organic red wine with depth and length is called for.
