The Auchentoshan THREE WOOD Single Malt Scotch Whisky 43% ABV 0.7 l + GB is an elegant Lowland single malt Scotch whisky, renowned for its exceptional smoothness and aromatic appeal. A hallmark of the Auchentoshan distillery is its rare triple distillation process, which gives this Scotch whisky an exceptionally smooth texture. The name ‘Three Wood’ refers to the three-stage maturation process: first, the whisky is aged for around 10 years in ex-bourbon casks, then for about 2 years in Oloroso sherry casks, and finally for around 6 months in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This combination creates a complex balance of fruit, sweetness and spice, making this Lowland whisky a particularly accessible bottling for both newcomers and experienced connoisseurs alike. The whisky is bottled at 43 per cent, contains colouring and comes in a high-quality gift box.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold.

Nose: Sweet, candied sugar, plums and redcurrants.

Palate: Very smooth and slightly oily, elegant sherry sweetness, nutty notes, dominant fruit flavours including lemon, hazelnut and cinnamon.

Finish: Fresh and fruity, with a long-lasting sweetness.

The Auchentoshan Three Wood Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky pairs superbly with desserts such as crème brûlée, apple tart, nut cake or chocolate mousse, as its fruity sweetness perfectly complements these flavours. It also pairs well with mature hard cheeses, roasted nuts or fine patisserie creations. This Scotch whisky also shines in cocktails, such as the simple ‘Bucker’ made with Auchentoshan Three Wood, lemon juice and ginger ale, in which its fruity and spicy nuances come to the fore particularly well.
