The Schwarz KUMAROD Cuvée Red 2022 is a characterful, high-quality Austrian red wine that combines immediate drinking pleasure with depth and structure. Produced by the distinctive Schwarz winery, this cuvée embodies a modern, juicy style of red wine with a clear signature. The cuvée, made from 70% Zweigelt, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, combines freshness, spice and elegance. The ripe Merlot forms the backbone of the wine, providing balance, roundness and a harmonious smoothness.


The Schwarz KUMAROD Cuvée Red is vinified dry and matures for 12 months in used barrels, ensuring the fruit remains at the forefront whilst the wood provides a subtle structural element. With an alcohol content of 13.5 per cent, the 2022 vintage is juicy, well-balanced and ready to drink early on, without losing any of its depth. The ageing process lends the wine an elegant texture and velvety tannins, whilst preserving its freshness and spice. Bottled in the classic 0.75-litre bottle, this red wine from Burgenland offers versatile, uncomplicated yet sophisticated enjoyment.

Tasting Note

In the glass, it displays a deep, dark ruby-garnet colour with violet highlights and a delicate lightening at the rim. On the nose, there is a delicate aroma of heart cherries and ripe plums, accompanied by subtle woody notes and orange zest. On the palate, it is juicy, elegant and round, with velvety tannins, herbal-spicy nuances and distinct cherry fruit. The finish is balanced, fruit-driven and versatile.
