The Schwarz ROT Zweigelt is made from 100% Zweigelt and matures for 16 months, 50% of which is in new barriques and 50% in used Burgundy barrels. With an alcohol content of 13.5%, the 2023 vintage is powerful, yet balanced and precisely structured. Tasting Note

Dark ruby-garnet in colour with violet reflections and a delicate brightening of the rim. The nose reveals a complex aroma of dark wild berry fruit, sour cherry and violets, accompanied by fine herbal spice, blackberry notes and a hint of cardamom. Juicy and elegant on the palate with good complexity, finely integrated tannins and a fresh structure. The finish is characterised by clear heart cherry notes, long-lasting and precise.

The Schwarz ROT Zweigelt 2023 is an excellent accompaniment to dark meat, game dishes, braised beef or dishes with depth and flavour. This dry Zweigelt also unfolds its full class with mature hard cheese. Decanting is recommended to fully open up the aromatic complexity. At a serving temperature of around 16 °C, this wine shows its structure, elegance and assured development potential in impressive form.
