Planteray Rum Guatemala & Belize Gran Añejo represents the skilful fusion of two rum-producing countries steeped in tradition, combining Caribbean ageing with French barrel finishing. This Gran Añejo rum is crafted from carefully selected distillates from Guatemala and Belize and embodies the characteristic style of Planteray Rum. The premium rum is first aged for three years in ex-bourbon casks in Central America, where the climate and storage conditions ensure depth, structure and aromatic richness.


It is then transported to France, to the cellars of Maison Ferrand, where the rum undergoes a further finishing in ex-cognac casks. This second ageing phase lends the Planteray Gran Añejo its elegant balance, added complexity and a particularly smooth texture. Bottled at 42 per cent and supplied in a gift box, this matured rum is a versatile yet sophisticated expression that clearly highlights craftsmanship, provenance and expertise in cask management.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold to amber, with clear highlights.

Nose: Sensual tropical fruits, passion fruit and pineapple, accompanied by spicy notes and vanilla.

Palate: Velvety smooth, with sweet honey, creamy vanilla and full-bodied fruit notes, complemented by liquorice and tobacco.

Finish: Vanilla and pepper, balanced, medium-length and harmonious.

Planteray Rum Guatemala & Belize Gran Añejo is ideal for drinking neat, preferably at room temperature, to fully appreciate the combination of bourbon cask maturation and cognac cask finish. Culinary pairings: this Gran Añejo rum harmonises particularly well with vanilla- or honey-based desserts, caramel cream, ripe pineapple or banana desserts, as these highlight the tropical and sweet flavours. It also pairs superbly with dark chocolate and nuts, or as an elegant finale to a meal where structure, smoothness and oak character are key.
