The Planteray Rum Guatemala & Bélize Gran Añejo represents the skilful combination of two traditional rum origins and combines Caribbean maturity with French barrel refinement. This Gran Añejo rum is composed from carefully selected distillates from Guatemala and Belize and embodies the characteristic style of Planteray Rum. The premium rum is first matured for three years in ex-bourbon barrels in Central America, where the climate and storage conditions ensure depth, structure and aromatic richness.


It is then transported to the Maison Cognac Ferrand cellars in France, where the rum is given an additional finish in ex-Cognac barrels. This second maturation phase gives Planteray Gran Añejo its elegant balance, additional complexity and a particularly soft texture. Bottled at 42% and supplied with a gift box, this matured rum is a versatile and sophisticated bottling that clearly emphasises craftsmanship, origin and barrel expertise.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold to amber, with clear reflections.

Nose: Sensual tropical fruit, passion fruit and pineapple, accompanied by spicy impressions and vanilla.

Taste: Velvety smooth, with sweet honey, creamy vanilla, full-bodied fruit notes, complemented by liquorice and tobacco.

Finish: Vanilla and pepper, balanced, medium-long and harmonious.

The Planteray Rum Guatemala & Bélize Gran Añejo is ideal for drinking straight, preferably at room temperature, to clearly perceive the combination of bourbon barrel maturation and cognac barrel finish. In culinary terms, this Gran Añejo rum harmonises particularly well with vanilla or honey-based desserts, caramel cream, ripe pineapple or banana desserts, as these emphasise the tropical and sweet flavours. It is also an excellent accompaniment to dark chocolate, nuts or as an elegant finish to a meal where structure, softness and fibre character are required.
