The Scheiblhofer Mordor 2024 is a powerful Austrian quality red wine that combines the distinctive Scheiblhofer style with the origin of Mittelburgenland. Responsible for this expressive cuvée is the renowned Scheiblhofer winery, which stands for structured, barrique-influenced red wines with a clear signature. Mordor combines Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to create a dense, modern red wine with depth and longevity.


The 12-month maturation in new French barriques gives the wine structure, complexity and a precise tannin structure without masking its origin. With 13.5% alcohol by volume, this dry red wine from Burgenland is powerful and balanced at the same time. The 2024 vintage is concentrated, clearly structured and designed for maturity. The recommended drinking age of 2025 to 2035 emphasises the ageing potential of this barrique-aged red wine, which should ideally be decanted before drinking in order to optimally develop its complexity.

Tasting Note

The Scheiblhofer Mordor 2024 has a dark ruby-garnet colour in the glass. The nose reveals notes of black berry confit with a delicate smoky-spicy underlay and fine hints of precious wood. On the palate, the wine is densely structured with clear fruit flavours and a powerful body. The finish is long-lasting, spicy and characterised by a mature structure.
