Produced by the renowned Familia Torres, this Spanish premium red wine is one of the strongest representatives of the region and is characterised by depth, minerality and structure. As Vi de Vila Porrera, this wine comes exclusively from the municipality of Porrera, whose steep slate slopes with typical Llicorella soils offer ideal conditions for concentrated, long-lasting Priorat wines.

The cuvée is mainly based on the Garnacha and Cariñena grape varieties, supplemented by small proportions of international varieties. After careful manual harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place before the Priorat DOCa red wine is matured in oak barrels, which creates additional complexity and structure. At 14% vol., the Torres Salmos 2021 is powerful yet elegant and balanced. The vintage shows the typical combination of intense fruit, mineral depth and finely integrated tannins that make this Vi de Vila Priorat an expressive representative of top Spanish wines.

Tasting Note

A deep ruby red in the glass with dark reflections, the nose reveals aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberry and plum, accompanied by fine notes of herbs, spices and mineral hints, on the palate the wine is full-bodied and structured, with dense tannins and a harmonious balance between fruit and spice, the finish is intense and elegant, long-lasting and characterised by mineral depth.

This Priorat red wine from Porrera is an excellent accompaniment to hearty meat dishes such as leg of lamb, fillet of beef or braised game. It is a particularly harmonious accompaniment to Mediterranean specialities such as lamb stew, grilled meat with herbs or spicy stews. This Torres Salmos Priorat also unfolds its structure perfectly with mature hard cheeses such as Manchego or dark chocolate.
