Frauwallner Pinot Blanc, Ried Buch, Vulkanland Styria DAC 2023, 13% vol., 0.75 l online kaufen
The Frauwallner Pinot Blanc Ried Buch Vulkanland Styria DAC 2023 13% vol. 0.75 l is an expressive, terroir-driven Pinot Blanc from Styria, which impressively reflects the origins of the renowned Ried Buch vineyard in the Vulkanland Styria DAC. The long-established Frauwallner winery is renowned for precise winemaking, selective hand-harvesting and a distinct style that authentically combines origin and grape variety. This Styrian DAC white wine ranks among the finest in the range and impresses with its structure, minerality and exceptional ageing potential.
The Ried Buch single vineyard, covering around six hectares, lies in an open clearing sheltered on three sides by mixed woodland. The vineyards are rooted in deep soils of basalt and volcanic rock and lie at an altitude of 300 to 360 metres above sea level, facing south and south-west. These conditions lend the Ried Buch Pinot Blanc its characteristic warmth, calm and longevity. The winemaking process focuses on precision and expression, resulting in an elegant and powerful Vulkanland DAC Pinot Blanc. With an alcohol content of 13% vol., this Austrian white wine is powerful yet finely structured. The recommended serving temperature is 12 to 14 °C, and the optimal drinking window extends from 2025 to 2038.
Tasting Note
In the glass, it displays a luminous straw-yellow colour with brilliant highlights. On the nose, aromas of ripe, juicy stone fruit unfold, accompanied by salty minerality as well as hints of fresh brown bread, smoky, toasty notes and a touch of nougat. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and elegant, with a dense structure and a harmonious balance between fruit and spice. The finish is long and precise, lingering and underpinned by mineral depth.
Acidity: 5 g/l
Residual sugar: 1.4 g/l
This Pinot Blanc from the Ried Buch vineyard in the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC region pairs superbly with robust dishes featuring intense flavours. It complements mushroom dishes with cream sauces particularly well, such as porcini risotto or tagliatelle with mushroom cream sauce. It is ideal paired with veal loin with porcini mushrooms and glazed carrots in a thyme and cream sauce, a combination in which the Frauwallner Pinot Blanc 2023 perfectly showcases its structure and elegance. This Styrian DAC white wine also reveals its full complexity when paired with white meat, poultry with creamy sauces or mature soft cheeses. Served at 12 to 14 °C, it is ideal for sophisticated menus and elegant moments of indulgence.
