The KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2021 13% Vol. 0.75 l is a precise, terroir-driven Sauvignon Blanc from Styria that impressively reflects the expressiveness of the renowned Ried Neusetzberg vineyard in the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC. Produced by the prestigious Weingut Krispel, this characterful Styrian white wine is characterised by depth, structure and elegant complexity. The limestone-rich soils of the site give this Vulkanland DAC Sauvignon Blanc its mineral tension and distinctive style.


The grapes are selectively harvested and gently vinified before the wine matures for around 12 months in large wooden barrels. This maturation gives the KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc additional structure and fine flavour without masking the typical freshness of the variety. At 13%, this Austrian white wine is powerful yet precise and balanced. The 2021 vintage impresses with its clarity, depth and remarkable ageing potential until around 2041, making it one of the particularly long-lived representatives of the region.

Tasting Note

Pale golden yellow in the glass with green reflections, the nose reveals aromas of flint, redcurrants and fine roasted aromas, accompanied by spices and exotic notes of mango and lychee, the Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg is fruity and precise on the palate, with hints of lime, elegant spice and a well-balanced acid structure, the finish is complex and multi-layered, long-lasting and characterised by mineral freshness.

This Sauvignon Blanc from the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC is an excellent accompaniment to aromatic and structured dishes. It harmonises particularly well with salt-crusted branzino, crispy roast pork or red wool pork salami. The KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg 2021 also unfolds its structure perfectly with Asian dishes from the wok, Indian dal or duck. Served at around 9 to 12 °C, this Styrian white wine is ideal for sophisticated menus and elegant moments of pleasure.
