The exact composition of the cuvée is deliberately kept under wraps, which further emphasises the mystical and unique claim of this Hillinger Icon Hill. The wine is produced with the utmost precision: hand-picking, extremely low yields and intensive maceration over two weeks, followed by a further four weeks of maceration and malolactic fermentation on the skins, ensure maximum extraction. This premium red wine from Austria then matures for at least 7 years in used barriques, developing an impressive complexity and structure. With a storage potential of up to 20 years, this limited-edition red wine is one of Hillinger's longest-lived and most characterful interpretations.

Tasting Note

A deep, dark red colour with a black core and violet rim, the nose reveals intense aromas of dark wild berries, blackberries, cherries and pickled plums, accompanied by roasted aromas, liquorice and black pepper, On the palate, the wine is powerful and concentrated with dense berry fruit, fine roasted flavours and spicy notes of liquorice, the well-integrated acidity and elegant, fine-grained tannins provide structure and balance, the finish is long-lasting, complex and harmonious.
