The Leitner Sauvignon Blanc Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2025, 12% vol., 0.75 l, is a characterful Sauvignon Blanc from Styria that impressively reflects the typical style of its Vulkanland Steiermark DAC appellation. The long-established Leitner winery is renowned for its precisely vinified DAC wines from Austria, which combine freshness, aromatic richness and regional character. This Austrian white wine is made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety and is a dry white wine with a clear structure and lively fruit.


The grapes come from the characteristic vineyards of Vulkanland Steiermark, whose volcanic soils and balanced climate create ideal conditions for aromatic Styrian Sauvignon Blanc wines. Viticulture is carried out using conventional methods, with particular emphasis placed on healthy and optimally ripened grapes. Following the harvest, vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, which ensures that the variety-typical aromas and freshness are preserved with exceptional clarity. The wine displays a precise, fruit-driven style and is excellent for early drinking, though it also has a drinking window of around two years. The bottle is sealed with a screw cap, which reliably preserves its freshness and aromas.

Tasting Note

In the glass, it displays a pale yellow colour with greenish highlights. On the nose, a complex bouquet of stinging nettle, yellow pepper and hay unfolds, accompanied by blackcurrant and fresh exotic fruit notes, On the palate, the wine is lively and well-structured, with fresh fruit and a piquant, spicy character; the finish is fresh, aromatic and long-lasting.

This Sauvignon Blanc from Styria is excellent as an aperitif and pairs particularly well with fish dishes, seafood, grilled vegetables or fresh salads. This Vulkanland Steiermark DAC white wine also pairs excellently with asparagus dishes, Asian cuisine, poultry or light starters. Served at around 8–10 °C, this Austrian Sauvignon Blanc really comes into its own, revealing its fresh aromas, lively acidity and elegant spice.
