Douglas Laing THE EPICUREAN The Peated Edition Lowland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is an exceptional limited edition from the well-known Remarkable Regional Malts series by independent bottler Douglas Laing. This special bottling marks a first for The Epicurean brand, as for the first time the classic Lowland blended malt whisky is complemented by a peated cask influence. This creates an exciting combination of the typical fresh, elegant Lowland style and a gentle smokiness that gives the whisky additional depth.


The Epicurean Peated Edition combines selected Lowland single malts that are known for their lively, citrusy and malty flavours. The influence of peated casks gives the whisky a new dimension, combining green freshness, floral nuances and malt sweetness with a fine layer of earthy peat smoke. This small batch bottling is limited to just 1,800 bottles worldwide and is bottled at natural cask strength with 50.5% vol. As is usual with Douglas Laing, the bottling is carried out without chill-filtration and without colouring, which fully preserves the authentic character of this Lowland blended malt Scotch whisky.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold.

Nose: Gentle earthy peat smoke with thyme, green apple and roasted barley.

Flavour: Malty and smooth with honeyed cereals, smoky embers, peppery warmth and subtle oak spice.

Finish: Drying peat smoke with slightly ashy nuances, lemon zest and a hint of vanilla.
