Vinified by Weinhof Szemes and inspired by Mariam Martinez, this Austrian red wine combines the signature of Oscar Szemes with a special international idea. The wine symbolises the connection between two cultures and is dedicated to freedom - "Viva Venezuela".


The Blaufränkisch grape variety brings the typical combination of freshness, structure and dark fruit to this wine. After vinification, the wine matures in oak barrels and then receives its special finish in a rum barrel from David Gölles, creating additional depth and an extraordinary flavour. With 14.5% alcohol by volume, this dry Blaufränkisch is powerful, elegant and multi-layered. The special barrel maturation provides additional complexity and gives this red wine from Austria an independent style with an international character.

Tasting Note

The Weinhof Szemes VENEZUELA Blaufränkisch has a deep ruby red colour in the glass. Intense aromas of dark berries, cherries and fine spicy notes unfold on the nose, accompanied by subtle hints of rum, vanilla and wood. On the palate, the wine is powerful and structured with elegant fruit, fine tannins and harmonious spice. The finish is complex, soft and long-lasting.
