Limited to just 3,900 bottles, this edition bears the designation Release No. 416 and is aimed at collectors and connoisseurs of exceptional single malts. For the Wolfburn Small Batch Release No. 416, only first-fill Ruby Port casks were used, sourced back in 2016 from the famous Douro Valley in Portugal – one of the oldest protected wine regions in the world. The whisky matured for ten years entirely in these first-fill port casks, developing exceptional depth and intense fruit and wine aromas as a result. At 46% ABV, this single malt Scotch whisky is full-bodied and well-balanced. The combination of sweet port aromas, dark fruits, subtle oak notes and the typical character of a Highland single malt makes this bottling a truly special tasting experience. As the first small-batch edition to feature an age statement, it impressively demonstrates the influence that time and high-quality Ruby Port casks have on the style of Wolfburn.

Colour: Dark amber with reddish highlights.

Nose: Warm aromas of Ruby Port, sea salt, raisins, dark cherries and sultanas.

Palate: Full-bodied with caramel, vanilla, vinous fruit notes, dates, figs and gentle oak smoke.

Finish: Lang, warming and elegant with caramel, dried fruit and lingering notes of Ruby Port.
