The Quiet Man brand pays homage to the generation of Irish barmen who heard countless stories yet always maintained their discretion – hence the name ‘The Quiet Man’. The Barman’s Code Series showcases selected bottlings that stand out thanks to their unique maturation processes and limited-edition cask combinations.

This 10-year-old Irish single malt whisky is first matured in selected oak casks and then finished in Amarone wine casks from the Valpolicella region of Italy. This secondary maturation lends the whisky additional depth and enriches its typically smooth Irish character with fruity notes of dark berries, ripe cherries and delicate spices. The result is a balanced and multi-layered whisky that harmoniously combines fruitiness, spice and subtle oak aromas, delighting both connoisseurs and lovers of exceptional cask finishes.

Tasting Note

Colour: Gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Ripe cherries, dark berries, vanilla, honey, oak and subtle spicy notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and smooth with red fruits, raisins, caramel, vanilla, oaky spice and elegant Amarone notes.

The Quiet Man BARMAN’S CODE 10 Years Old Amarone Finished is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of still water. It pairs superbly with beef fillet, game dishes, mature Gouda, Comté, Parmesan, prosciutto, mushroom risotto or an antipasti platter. As a dessert accompaniment, it pairs excellently with chocolate fondant, Black Forest gateau, cherry desserts, tiramisu or plum cake, with the fruity Amarone notes coming to the fore particularly beautifully.
