The West Cork MARITIME Single Malt Irish Whiskey PORT CASK FINISHED Limited Edition is an exclusive limited edition from the Irish West Cork Distillery, combining traditional Irish whiskey-making with the fruity notes of high-quality port casks. At 43% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, this bottling is part of the special Maritime Release series, which comprises four different single malt whiskies. The distinctive bottle shape is reminiscent of historic buoys, which were once used to keep fishing nets afloat, and reflects the distillery’s close connection to the Irish coast.


This triple-distilled single malt Irish whisky is initially matured in carefully selected first-fill bourbon casks before receiving its characteristic finish in Ruby Port casks from the Douro Valley – specifically, Quinta da Boeira Port casks. This secondary maturation lends the whisky additional depth, as well as elegant fruity and berry notes, which blend harmoniously with vanilla, subtle spices and the sweetness of the bourbon cask maturation. Like all bottlings in the Maritime Release series, this edition is also bottled without chill filtration and without the addition of colouring agents, thereby fully preserving the whisky’s natural character. The result is a well-balanced single malt Irish whisky that combines classic bourbon cask maturation with the elegance of Portuguese Ruby Port casks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber with reddish highlights.

Nose: Ripe red berries, dried fruit, vanilla, subtle oak and delicate port wine aromas.

Palate: Sweetish and delicately spicy with fruity notes, red berries, dried fruit, vanilla and gentle oak notes.

Finish: Balanced and elegant with lingering fruit sweetness, subtle spice and harmonious port cask notes.
