Admiral Rodney HMS FORMIDABLE Rare Saint Lucia Rum is a full-bodied premium rum from St Lucia, renowned for its exceptional depth, oily character and long tropical ageing. It is produced by the renowned St. Lucia Distillers, whose traditional rum-making is among the most highly regarded in the Caribbean. At 40% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, this Rare Rum is aimed at discerning connoisseurs who appreciate complex and full-bodied rum compositions.


For Admiral Rodney HMS FORMIDABLE, only molasses-based distillates produced in a Coffey column still are used. These distillates are sourced from the lower sections of the column, yielding particularly heavy, oily and aromatic fractions. The individual rums are then matured for between nine and twelve years in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak. The warm, tropical climate of St Lucia intensifies the interaction between the wood and the distillate, ensuring exceptional maturation. The final blended rum is composed by the Master Blender from carefully selected casks of this age group and impresses with its remarkable balance of strength, elegance and complexity.

Colour: Deep mahogany with amber highlights.

Nose: Ripe bananas, dark chocolate and oak, accompanied by dried fruit, molasses and a subtle hint of leather.

Palate: Full-bodied and oily with toffee, roasted nuts, dark fruits, cocoa, spicy oak and subtle notes of tobacco.

Finish: Long-lasting with dry woody spice, dark chocolate, delicate spices and a slightly smoky aftertaste.
