The Kerschbaum Cuvée Impresario 2021, 14% ABV, in a 1.5-litre magnum bottle, is one of Austria’s most prestigious red wine cuvées and epitomises the signature style of the renowned Weingut Kerschbaum in Burgenland. Since its first bottling, the Impresario has been regarded as the estate’s flagship wine, combining power, elegance and exceptional ageing potential. The 1.5-litre magnum bottle is ideal for special occasions and, thanks to its larger size, offers the perfect conditions for slow and harmonious ageing.


The cuvée is composed of 60% Blaufränkisch, 20% Zweigelt, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Following careful hand-harvesting, the grapes are processed with particular care and fermented on the skins for 24 days to optimally extract colour, structure and aroma. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 18 months exclusively in new oak barrels, which gives it its impressive depth, complexity and elegance. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., the 2021 vintage is powerful, harmonious and offers excellent ageing potential – a great Austrian red wine for discerning connoisseurs.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Kerschbaum Cuvée Impresario 2021 presents itself as a dark ruby-garnet colour with an opaque centre, violet highlights and a delicate lightening at the rim. On the nose, elegant aromas of precious woods, blackcurrants, nougat and candied orange zest unfold. On the palate, the cuvée is powerful and complex, with subtle extract sweetness, ripe tannins and notes of dark berries and heart cherries, complemented by a delicate salty minerality. The finish is long-lasting, full-bodied and characterised by impressive depth.

Acidity: 5.6 g/l

The Kerschbaum Cuvée Impresario 2021 pairs superbly with braised lamb and veal, juicy steaks, grilled meats and hearty game dishes. This premium Austrian red wine cuvée is also an excellent accompaniment to mature hard cheeses and festive menus. It is recommended to decant the wine about four hours before drinking to allow its complex aromas and elegant structure to fully unfold. Served at 16–18 °C, the Impresario reveals its true class.
