The Phönix 12 Years Old Blended Caribbean Rum Black Design is a premium blended rum, composed of seven carefully selected rums. The individual rums come from various regions of the Caribbean and South America, including Venezuela, Guatemala and Panama, and are each aged for 12 years before being blended together. Following import, the blending is carried out by ETM Handels GmbH in Austria. To ensure that the different rum components can blend together perfectly after blending, the finished blend is then stored in oak casks for several weeks. This additional resting period serves to harmonise the flavours and gives the Phönix Caribbean 12 its balanced overall character.


Phönix Caribbean 12 Years Old is bottled at 40 per cent in a 0.5-litre bottle and presented in a high-quality black gift box. The combination of seven different rums, twelve years’ maturation and additional ageing in oak casks makes this bottling a distinctive variant within the Phönix rum range. Phönix deliberately focuses on selected rum components and limited availability rather than production geared towards large volumes. This 12-year-old blended rum from the Caribbean and South America thus combines international rum origins with Austrian blending and a striking presentation, making it an attractive high-quality gift for rum lovers.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with warm mahogany hues.

Nose: Full-bodied and inviting, with caramel, toffee and dark chocolate, accompanied by exotic fruits and subtle oak notes.

Palate: Round and intense with caramel, chocolate and creamy toffee, complemented by tropical fruits, spicy oak and a subtle smoky note.

Finish: Long-lasting and pleasantly mellow with a subtle warmth, a hint of heat and lingering notes of caramel and oak.

The Phönix Caribbean 12 Years Old is best enjoyed neat and without ice at around 22–23 °C in a rum glass. After pouring, it should be allowed to breathe for at least two to three minutes, ideally around 10 minutes, so that its aromatic depth can unfold to the full. It pairs well with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, dried fruit or mature hard cheese. Thanks to the black-designed gift box, this bottling is also ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, rum tastings and other special occasions.
