The rum is then bottled at an impressive 64.1 per cent, at full cask strength. There is therefore no subsequent dilution to a classic drinking strength. As a result, this edition is particularly authentic and is aimed primarily at experienced connoisseurs of robust Barbados rums at cask strength.

Colour: Deep amber.

Nose: Intense and concentrated, with ripe fruit, robust oak notes and spicy accents.

Palate: Powerful and full-bodied with pronounced fruit, spicy oak and an intense structure supported by the high cask strength.

Finish: Long-lasting, robust and warming, with lingering oaky spice and notes of ripe fruit.

Due to its 64.1% cask strength, Wagemut The Origin Barbados Rum is particularly suited to slow, neat enjoyment, although a few drops of still water are recommended to adjust the rum to your preferred strength and further open up its aromas. It pairs well with dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, roasted nuts or strong, matured cheese. This bottling is particularly interesting for a focused tasting of various Foursquare rums and cask-strength bottlings.
