The Gaja Langhe Sito Moresco Rosso DOC 2021 14 % is a characterful red wine blend from Piedmont, produced by the renowned Gaja winery within the Langhe DOC appellation. The 2021 vintage combines the Nebbiolo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, thus blending Piedmontese winemaking tradition with internationally renowned grape varieties. The vines grow on soils characterised by clay, limestone and sandstone, the properties of which contribute to the wine’s structured and mineral-driven character. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully selected and then vinified under controlled conditions.


In the 0.75-litre bottle, the Gaja Sito Moresco 2021 presents itself as a dry and powerful Langhe Rosso DOC, which is at the same time focused on balance and elegance. The blend of Nebbiolo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon results in a multi-layered style, in which structure and intense fruit interact harmoniously. The Sito Moresco thus offers an interesting introduction to the world of Gaja’s red wines and is suitable both as a versatile accompaniment to food and for special moments of enjoyment.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Gaja Langhe Sito Moresco Rosso DOC 2021 displays a deep purple-red colour. On the nose, notes of mulberries, damsons, black cherries and plums unfold, accompanied by hints of forest floor and sun-warmed rock. On the palate, the wine is dry, powerful and well-balanced, with a distinct, firm texture and mineral tension. The finish is long-lasting and underpinned by subtle mineral nuances.

The Gaja Sito Moresco 2021 should be served at around 15–18 °C and is an excellent match for robust Mediterranean and hearty dishes. It pairs particularly well with braised or roasted meat, pasta with a rich ragù and mature cheeses. Equally interesting pairings can be found with a spinach gratin with almonds or stuffed red onions with couscous and apricots.
