Blanton’s Straight From The Barrel Bourbon is one of the particularly robust expressions from the long-established Blanton’s brand and is bottled as a cask-strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky. Like all Blanton’s expressions, this variant also originates from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. A distinctive feature is the single-barrel concept: the whisky is bottled from a single, selected cask, rather than blending different casks together. Maturation takes place in the famous Warehouse H, a historic, metal-clad warehouse that is subject to particularly severe temperature fluctuations. For Blanton's Bourbon, casks from the central sections of this warehouse are selected. As a Straight Bourbon, the whisky is matured in new, charred American oak casks.

Blanton's Straight From The Barrel is bottled without dilution to a standard drinking strength, thereby presenting the bourbon in a particularly direct and concentrated form. The stated alcohol content of 61.6% corresponds to the cask strength of this specific bottling, although the alcohol content may vary between casks. It is precisely this single-barrel, barrel-strength bottling that stands out clearly from the classic Blanton’s Original Single Barrel. Another characteristic feature of the brand is the distinctive bottle cap featuring a racehorse and jockey, the different designs of which together spell out the word ‘BLANTONS’. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with mahogany-coloured highlights.

Nose: Dark caramel, vanilla and ripe fruit with robust oak, spices and subtle chocolate notes.

Palate: Intense, full-bodied and powerful, with caramel, vanilla, dark fruit, toasted oak and pronounced spicy notes.

Finish: Very long-lasting, warm and spicy with oak, caramel, vanilla and lingering hints of spice.

Due to its high alcohol content of 61.6 per cent, Blanton's Straight From The Barrel Bourbon is best enjoyed neat at room temperature, although a few drops of still water can reduce the high cask strength and bring out further flavours. The bourbon can also be enjoyed over a large ice cube.
