Kirk and Sweeney XO Dominican Rum Edición Limitada No. 5 Organic is a strictly limited-edition premium bottling from the Dominican Republic, which stands out clearly from the brand’s regular bottlings thanks to its exceptionally high cask strength of 65.5 per cent. It is made from certified organic sugar cane molasses, from which the rum is distilled and then matured for many years in carefully selected oak casks under tropical climatic conditions. The intensive tropical cask ageing contributes significantly to the pronounced depth and concentration of this Edición Limitada No. 5. It is then bottled at cask strength, which ensures that the powerful character of the matured distillates is preserved with particular immediacy.

The Kirk and Sweeney XO No. 5 is also bottled without any additives and without chill filtration. At 65.5% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box, this special edition is aimed particularly at experienced rum enthusiasts and collectors who prefer full-bodied bottlings. The combination of organic-certified sugar cane molasses from the Dominican Republic, tropical long-term ageing, cask strength and limited availability forms the key distinguishing feature of this edition. Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with golden highlights.

Nose: Full-bodied and concentrated, with notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, vanilla and oak, accompanied by a subtle hint of tobacco.

Palate: Powerful and complex with toffee, caramel and raisins, complemented by intense spices and toasted oak.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and intense with dark sugar, oak, coffee and a subtle, lingering spiciness.

Due to its high cask strength of 65.5 per cent, the Kirk and Sweeney XO Edición Limitada No. 5 is best enjoyed neat at room temperature in a nosing glass. A few drops of still water can help to further open up the concentrated fruit, spice and cask notes and allow you to adjust the strength to your personal preference. It pairs particularly well with dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, dried fruit, caramelised desserts or roasted nuts.
