The FRC 13 Years Old PANAMA Premium Reserve Rum Batch 2 is a matured rum from Panama, bottled by the Flensburg Rum Company (FRC), characterised by a two-stage maturation process in different climatic zones. The rum is made from molasses distillates from Panama, which were initially aged for eight years under tropical conditions in Panama. The ageing process was then transferred to Germany, where the rum spent a further five years in northern Germany at Oldman Spirits GmbH. In total, the bottling thus reaches an age of 13 years. The combination of intensive tropical cask maturation and significantly cooler continental storage is said to produce a balanced blend of cask character, fruit and spice.

The FRC Panama 13 Years Batch #2 is bottled at 43% in a 0.7-litre bottle and contains no colouring. A dosage of 20 g of sugar per litre is specified for the bottling. It is characterised by a blend of tropical fruits with caramel, vanilla, spices and matured wood notes. The 13-year double maturation process between Panama and northern Germany forms the key distinguishing feature of this Premium Reserve bottling. The nautical label featuring a ship’s wheel reflects the identity of the Flensburg Rum Company. The balanced small-batch style makes this 13-year-old Panama Rum ideal both for enjoying neat and for creating high-quality rum cocktails.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm ochre.

Nose: Tropical pineapple and mango with intense toffee and caramel, complemented by dates and raisins.

Palate: Smooth and velvety with caramel, vanilla and cinnamon, accompanied by subtle woody notes and harmonious oak spice.

Finish: Long-lasting and spicy with lingering sweetness, subtle tobacco notes and matured wood.

Due to its long maturation, the FRC 13 Years Old Panama Premium Reserve Rum Batch 2 is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at room temperature or over a large ice cube.
