The Illusionist Dry Gin Distiller’s The Cinema Edition SWEET 2026 is an exceptional limited-edition gin that translates the nostalgic experience of a classic evening at the cinema into a unique flavour concept. For the Distiller’s Edition 2026, The Illusionist swaps the myth- and folklore-inspired settings of previous editions for the big screen and explores a familiar cinema dilemma: sweet or savoury popcorn. The SWEET Edition combines the Mediterranean botanical base of The Illusionist Dry Gin with popcorn, Madagascan vanilla, caramelised brown sugar and notes of butter toffee. The result is a deliberately sweet-inspired interpretation, in which the classic gin botanicals continue to form the aromatic foundation. The edition is bottled at a robust 45 per cent ABV in a 0.5-litre bottle.


The concept follows the guiding principle of the annual Distiller’s Edition: one Master Distiller, complete creative freedom and no further restrictions. For 2026, this has resulted in two distinct bottlings, SWEET and SALTY, with each edition limited to just 1,234 bottles. The presentation also picks up on the cinema theme. The bottle’s three-dimensional artwork can be viewed using the included 3D glasses, whilst the set also features a curated recipe booklet and detailed tasting notes. Together with the gift box, this creates an elaborately presented collector’s edition. The combination of a strictly limited run, an unusual popcorn-inspired concept and the contrast between Mediterranean botanicals, caramel and vanilla makes the Illusionist Cinema Edition SWEET 2026 a particularly distinctive interpretation of modern dry gin.

The Illusionist Cinema Edition SWEET 2026 is ideal for a special gin and tonic, whereby a dry, preferably neutral tonic water does not overpower the popcorn, caramel and vanilla notes. It pairs well with caramelised popcorn, roasted nuts or dark chocolate with sea salt, which either complement or deliberately contrast its sweet character. This edition can also be used specifically for dessert-style gin cocktails without completely masking its botanical base.
