Description
Tschida Angerhof Illmitzer Spätlese 2025 8% ABV 0.75 l online kaufen
The Tschida Angerhof Illmitzer Spätlese 2025 is an Austrian Prädikat wine from Illmitz in Burgenland, produced exclusively from the aromatic Sämling 88 grape variety. Also known as Scheurebe, this variety is particularly well-suited to fruit-forward wines due to its pronounced aromatics and thrives in the excellent conditions found around Lake Neusiedl. As a Spätlese, this wine is produced from grapes of correspondingly high ripeness and combines intense fruit character with a balanced acidity profile. With an alcohol content of just 8 per cent, the Illmitz Spätlese is comparatively light, thereby emphasising the wine’s approachable, lively style. Its Illmitz origins and the characteristic grape variety make this Sämling 88 Spätlese from the Angerhof Tschida a quintessential example of Burgenland’s Prädikat wine culture.
For the vinification of the Tschida Angerhof Illmitz Spätlese 2025, the use of oak is deliberately avoided. The wine is fermented entirely in stainless steel tanks and subsequently aged there, ensuring that the varietal character of the Sämling 88 remains unadulterated. This straightforward winemaking approach focuses on the freshness, structure and natural expressiveness of the grape variety. In the 0.75-litre bottle, this Spätlese is ideal both as an accompaniment to a varied menu and for enjoying with fruity desserts. The combination of Sämling 88, Spätlese quality, Illmitz provenance and an alcohol content of just 8% also makes this wine an interesting choice for lovers of aromatic Austrian white wines with a moderate alcohol content.
Tasting Note
In the glass, the Tschida Angerhof Illmitzer Spätlese 2025 displays a luminous pale yellow colour. On the nose, it reveals intense tropical aromas of kiwi, pink grapefruit and plenty of yellow peach, complemented by delicate meadow herbs. On the palate, the wine is finely structured and multi-layered, with pronounced fruit depth, a delicate mineral note and a pleasantly balanced acidity. The finish is fresh, fruit-driven and harmoniously lingering.
The Illmitzer Spätlese from the Angerhof Tschida pairs superbly with pâtés and foie gras with wine jelly, as well as with Asian cuisine featuring spicy, sweet-and-sour sauces. Casseroles and strudel also combine well with its aromatic profile. On the sweet side, it is recommended with Kaiserschmarrn, ice sorbets and light sponge treats. The ideal serving temperature is 10–12 °C.
