Hennessy Very Special Cognac, or Hennessy V.S. for short, is the most recent classic quality grade in the range of the long-established Hennessy cognac house. For this blend, around 40 different eaux-de-vie are blended together, selected for their lively and fresh character. The distillates are aged in French oak casks, with contact with the wood shaping their structure, spice and characteristic vanilla and toasted aromas. This careful blending results in a French cognac offering a balanced combination of power and finesse. Hennessy was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy and is based in Cognac in the Charente, one of the most important regions for high-quality brandies.

Hennessy V.S Cognac 40% embodies a lively, straightforward style, in which fruity notes meet spicy and woody accents. The blend combines different eaux-de-vie to create a consistent house style, showcasing both youthful freshness and the influence of barrel ageing. The cognac is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume in a 0.7-litre bottle. Thanks to its robust yet approachable profile, Hennessy Very Special is highly versatile and, as well as being enjoyed neat, is particularly well-suited to cognac cocktails and long drinks. Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber with golden highlights.

Nose: Lively and fruity with raisins, ripe apples and dried fruit, complemented by vanilla, delicate spices and subtle oak notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and harmonious with juicy fruit notes, grapes and dried fruit, as well as delicate vanilla, spices and a subtle fruity acidity.

Finish: Medium-length and pleasantly mellow, with slightly sweet notes of raisins and vanilla, as well as a gently lingering hint of oak.

Hennessy Very Special Cognac can be served neat or on the rocks; however, its robust and lively structure is particularly well suited to long drinks and classic cognac cocktails. It pairs effortlessly with ginger ale or ginger beer and a twist of lemon or lime. Its fruity, spicy character also works well in a Sidecar or Cognac Highball. It pairs well with mature cheeses, roasted nuts, dark chocolate or desserts featuring apple, raisins and vanilla.
