Description
KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg Vulkanland Styria DAC 2023 13% vol. 0.75 l online kaufen
The KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2023 is a characterful Sauvignon Blanc from the Vulkanland region of Styria, combining its Ried Neusetzberg provenance with a sophisticated ageing process. This single vineyard is classified as a ‘Erste STK Ried’, signifying a Styrian single-vineyard wine with a strong emphasis on its origin. The grapes are organically grown, with Weingut Krispel placing great importance on natural viticulture and the precise expression of the respective terroir. Following vinification, the wine is given ample time to develop and is aged for twelve months in large wooden casks. The careful use of wood enhances the structure and ageing potential without overshadowing the Sauvignon Blanc’s distinctive character.
With an alcohol content of 13% in the 0.75-litre bottle, the KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg 2023 is a dry, age-worthy white wine for lovers of spicy and terroir-driven Sauvignon Blanc styles. Particularly noteworthy is the stated ageing potential until 2040, making the wine suitable both for immediate enjoyment and for longer bottle ageing. A high-quality DIAM closure is used. The combination of the single vineyard Ried Neusetzberg, organic viticulture, twelve months’ ageing in large wooden casks and the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC designation makes this vintage a multi-faceted example of Styrian Sauvignon Blanc and an interesting choice for sophisticated food pairings.
Tasting Note
In the glass, the KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg 2023 appears brilliantly clear, with a pale golden-yellow colour and green highlights. On the nose, flint, redcurrant and passion fruit are initially apparent, before subtle spicy notes and a delicate smokiness develop. On the palate, the fruit takes centre stage initially, complemented by fresh lime, before increasingly spicy and mineral nuances come to the fore; the acidity is harmoniously integrated. The finish is long and elegant, underpinned by fruit and minerality, whilst the spicy accents linger for a long time.
Acidity: 6.6 g/l
Residual sugar: 1.7 g/l
The KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg is a versatile accompaniment to food and pairs superbly with branzino in a salt crust, crispy roast pork and duck. Its combination of freshness, minerality and spice also provides a perfect counterpart to red Wollschwein salami, spicy Indian dahl or aromatic wok dishes. For vegetarians, it is particularly recommended with pan-fried goat’s cheese on a bed of leaf salad. The ideal serving temperature is 9–12 °C.
