The Frescobaldi Castiglioni Chianti DOCG 2025 is a classic Chianti from Tuscany, produced at the historic Castiglioni estate in the Montespertoli area. The blend is based on Sangiovese, complemented by a small proportion of Merlot, and expresses the approachable, fruit-driven style of the region. The 2025 vintage initially benefited from generous rainfall between winter and spring, which ensured good water reserves in the soil. From late March to early April, budbreak began evenly, followed by harmonious vegetative growth and favourable conditions during flowering in the second half of May. A drier June slowed the vines’ growth, whilst the ripening phase began steadily between late July and early August.

Well-distributed rainfall throughout the rest of the year accompanied the grapes right up to harvest and supported a balanced development of ripeness, freshness and concentration. The vintage’s healthy grapes form the basis for a Chianti DOCG that clearly reflects the character of the Castiglioni terroir. With an alcohol content of 12.5% in the 0.75-litre bottle, the Frescobaldi Castiglioni Chianti 2025 is a versatile Italian red wine, perfect for classic Mediterranean cuisine and casual moments of enjoyment. Tasting Note

In the glass, the Frescobaldi Castiglioni Chianti DOCG 2025 displays a vibrant ruby red colour. On the nose, it reveals pleasantly fruity and distinct aromas of red fruits with subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the Chianti is smooth and well-balanced, whilst a lively freshness and well-integrated tannins lend it a clearly defined character. The finish is harmonious, fruit-driven and pleasantly lingering.

The Frescobaldi Castiglioni Chianti 2025 pairs superbly with pappardelle with a hearty meat ragout, lasagne and other classic Italian pasta dishes. It also harmonises well with roast chicken, strips of beef with vegetables and Mediterranean meat dishes. Medium-aged Pecorino and other aromatic cheeses also make a good pairing. The Chianti is best served slightly chilled at around 16–18 °C.
