The Havana Club ICONICA Gran Reserva Añejo 15 Años Limited Reserve Rum is one of the finest releases in the Havana Club Icónica Collection and is crafted by the experienced Maestros del Ron Cubano. This Cuban blended rum is crafted from carefully selected reserve rums based on sugar cane molasses, the youngest components of which have been aged for at least 15 years in Cuba’s tropical climate. White oak casks are used for ageing. The high temperatures and high humidity accelerate the exchange between the rum and the wood, whilst at the same time leading to a considerable loss through evaporation, known as the ‘Angel’s Share’. The long tropical ageing process contributes significantly to the concentrated, comparatively dry and complex character of the Havana Club 15 Años.

Havana Club Gran Reserva Añejo 15 Años is bottled at 40% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle and belongs to the Cuban brand’s exclusive prestige range. The Icónica Collection focuses on particularly high-quality matured rum reserves, traditional Cuban cask maturation and the blending expertise of the Maestros del Ron Cubano. Thanks to at least 15 years’ ageing in Cuba, this limited-reserve bottling develops a distinctive blend of dark fruits, wood, spices and ripe, toasty aromas. The Havana Club ICONICA 15 Años is therefore a long-aged premium Cuban rum, in which tropical ageing, selected reserve rums and traditional blending are combined to create a particularly complex blended rum.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with deep amber highlights.

Nose: Rich and mature, with dried fruit, plums and raisins, accompanied by distinct oak and subtle toasted notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and rounded with sweet fruit, dark chocolate and strong coffee, complemented by tobacco, spices and soft tannins.

Finish: Long-lasting and complex with vanilla and cocoa, accompanied by ripe woody notes and a subtle lingering fruit sweetness.

The Havana Club ICONICA Gran Reserva Añejo 15 Años is best enjoyed neat at around 18 to 20 °C, allowing the long tropical cask ageing and complex character to unfold fully. Dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, roasted nuts and mature hard cheese pair well with the coffee, cocoa and woody notes. Desserts featuring plums, raisins, dark chocolate or vanilla also complement the rum’s distinctive flavours.
