Unlike aged bottlings, the focus here is on the distillate itself: slow fermentation with natural yeasts, followed by distillation in copper pot stills, ensures the typical, ester-rich Hampden aroma. For the FRESH, various Hampden marks from the same distillery are blended together, resulting in a multi-layered pure single rum from Jamaica. Cask ageing is deliberately avoided, allowing tropical fruit, citrus and the characteristic fermentation notes to come to the fore with particular immediacy.
