The Armorik CHOUCHENN Small Batch Whisky Breton Single Malt 46% vol. brings together two culinary traditions deeply rooted in Brittany: single malt whisky and Chouchenn, the traditional Breton honey-based mead. The whisky is produced by the Warenghem Distillery in Lannion, which, alongside Armorik, is one of the leading producers of French single malts. For this small-batch release, the whisky is matured in ex-Chouchenn casks as well as casks made from Breton oak. It is precisely this combination that gives the spirit a distinctive regional character, where the sweet, aromatic influence of the mead casks meets the structure of the local oak. As such, the Armorik Chouchenn Single Malt not only draws on Breton raw materials and cask culture, but translates them into a modern interpretation of whisky.

At 46% ABV, the Armorik CHOUCHENN Whisky Breton has sufficient strength to allow the honey, vanilla and the spicy notes from the oak casks to come through clearly. The mead cask influence provides a pronounced honeyed sweetness and a particularly smooth, enjoyable style, whilst the Breton oak contributes additional structure and spice. The bottling nevertheless remains fresh and balanced, thus combining regional identity with a distinctive cask concept. Tasting Note

Colour: Gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Expressive, with intense notes of honey and beeswax, followed by vanilla cream and subtle hints of rosemary and oak.

Palate: Smooth and fresh with distinct honeyed sweetness, a hint of minty freshness and a lovely structure of toasted wood, vanilla and clove.

Finish: Very long-lasting with beeswax, vanilla and a subtle hint of pepper.
