Four Roses Bourbon is a smooth and aromatic Kentucky Straight Bourbon, renowned for its exceptional lightness and elegance. It is produced using a unique process: five different strains of yeast and two distinct grain blends are used, resulting in ten distinct flavour profiles. These mature separately in charred oak casks for five to ten years before being blended into a harmonious and well-balanced bourbon.

The Four Roses Distillery, founded in 1888, is one of the most historic bourbon distilleries in the USA and stands out from other producers thanks to its innovative blending process. Whilst many distilleries use only a few recipes, Four Roses combines ten unique mash bills to achieve a particularly refined and complex aroma. Furthermore, Four Roses is characterised by its gentle distillation and long ageing period, which lend the bourbon an unmistakable smoothness and depth.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber.

Nose: Fruity aromas of ripe pears, apples and peaches, accompanied by vanilla, honey and a hint of caramel.

Palate: Smooth and well-balanced with sweet notes of maple syrup, vanilla and caramel, underpinned by subtle oaky spice and a hint of citrus.

Finish: Long and smooth with a hint of oak and a spicy freshness.

Thanks to its mild and harmonious characteristics, Four Roses Bourbon is excellent enjoyed neat or on the rocks. It also makes an ideal base for classic bourbon cocktails such as the Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour or Mint Julep. In the kitchen, it pairs particularly well with grilled meat, BBQ specialities and dark chocolate. It also elegantly reveals its delicate flavours when paired with mature cheese or nuts.
