The Glengoyne 21 Years Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a 21-year-old Highland single malt that reflects the Glengoyne Distillery’s deliberately slow and traditional style. For this bottling, the distillery uses unpeated barley malt, ensuring that the focus remains firmly on fruit, malt and cask maturation. The whisky spends its entire maturation period – spanning more than two decades – exclusively in carefully selected 100 per cent first-fill sherry casks. The intense influence of these sherry casks, which have been used for Scotch for the first time, shapes the depth and characteristic sherry style of the bottling. Glengoyne also refrains from adding colouring, meaning that the rich colour is developed solely during the long period of cask maturation.


The Glengoyne 21 Years Old is bottled at 43 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. The single malt is non-chill-filtered, thus combining a natural presentation with an exceptionally long sherry cask maturation. Tasting Note

Colour: Deep, natural amber.

Nose: Rich, with notes of red apples, spiced strudel and toffee, accompanied by sherry, dried fruit and hints of classic fruit cake.

Palate: Full-bodied and intensely sherry-driven, with honey and spicy oak, which becomes increasingly aromatic and is accompanied by a delicate sweetness.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and dry with sherry, robust spice and a distinctive hint of cinnamon.

The Glengoyne 21 Years Old should ideally be served neat at room temperature in a nosing glass, so that the sherry cask notes developed over 21 years can unfold fully. A few drops of still water can further open up the complex fruit and spice components.
