Dom Bénédictine is an exquisite herbal liqueur with an alcohol content of 40 % vol., with a long tradition and a secret recipe. This liqueur is made from a unique combination of 27 different herbs and spices, which give it its distinctive, complex aroma. The recipe dates back to the 16th century and was developed by Benedictine monks, who masterfully combined their knowledge of medicinal plants and spirits.

Production involves a labour-intensive process in which the botanicals are first macerated and then distilled in copper stills. Dom Bénédictine is subsequently aged in oak casks, giving it its smooth, harmonious structure. The result is a liqueur that perfectly balances sweet, spicy and herbal notes. Its distinctive flavour makes it a popular choice both for drinking neat and for classic cocktails such as the ‘B&B’ (Bénédictine & Brandy).

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm, golden amber.

Nose: Complex aromas of honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, saffron and herbs, with a subtle hint of vanilla.

Palate: Full-bodied and spicy, with notes of honey, caramelised sugar, herbs, orange peel and a hint of liquorice.

Finish: Long-lasting, gently spicy with a pleasant sweetness and a subtle herbal bitterness.

Dom Bénédictine is highly versatile and is ideal as a digestif or as an elegant ingredient in cocktails. It pairs particularly well with dark chocolate, mature cheeses or desserts such as crème brûlée.
