Platte Valley Corn Whiskey is a classic American straight corn whiskey, produced from 100 per cent maize mash. Produced by the long-established McCormick Distilling Company, one of the oldest distilleries in the USA, this whisky embodies authentic craftsmanship and an unadulterated flavour. Its production process follows traditional recipes dating back to the early days of American whisky.

It is distilled in column stills, producing a particularly smooth and pure distillate. The whisky is then matured for 36 months (3 years) in new oak casks, which impart gentle vanilla and woody aromas whilst preserving the typical sweet, maize-like character. Platte Valley Corn Whisky is bottled in a traditional earthenware jug, the design of which is reminiscent of the original whisky bottles from over 100 years ago. This makes it a special collector’s item, not only in terms of flavour but also visually.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold, with slight amber highlights.

Nose: Sweet maize, honey, vanilla, caramel, subtle cereal notes.

Palate: Smooth, creamy, sweet, intense maize flavours, a hint of spice, gentle oak nuances.

Finish: Medium-length, slightly sweet, mild, vanilla, subtle cereal notes.

Thanks to its natural sweetness and smooth texture, Platte Valley Corn Whiskey is ideal for enjoying neat or on the rocks. Its sweet and spicy notes also make it the perfect base for classic cocktails such as the Whiskey Sour, Old Fashioned or Manhattan.
