The Rum Coruba Non Plus Ultra Original Jamaica Rum is an exceptional, high-quality rum, which carries the essence of the Jamaican art of distillation. With an alcohol content of 40 % vol., it embodies the deep, complex flavour and intensity for which authentic Jamaica rum is known. "Non Plus Ultra" means "not to be surpassed" - and it is precisely this claim that this fine drop fulfils.

The Coruba brand (Compagnie Rhumière de Bâle) has Swiss roots, but production takes place in Jamaica using traditional methods. The Coruba Non Plus Ultra is composed from a carefully selected blend of matured pot still and column still rums. Maturation in oak barrels under tropical conditions gives it an intense, full-bodied flavour structure with complex notes of exotic fruits, spices and dark caramel.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark mahogany.

Nose: Spicy oak, vanilla, dried fruit, molasses and a hint of tobacco.

Flavour: Full-bodied and complex with notes of ripe bananas, dark chocolate, caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Finish: Langs, intense and slightly smoky with a pleasant sweetness and spicy wood notes.

The Coruba Non Plus Ultra is ideal for pure enjoyment or on ice to develop its full range of flavours. It goes perfectly with dark chocolate, roasted nuts or savoury cheeses such as mature cheddar. It also cuts an excellent figure as an elegant base for classic rum cocktails such as an Old Fashioned, Dark & Stormy or a full-bodied Mai Tai. For gourmets, it can be used in desserts such as rum cake or flambéed bananas to give them a deep, aromatic flavour.
