The Ileach Peated Islay Malt is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky characterised by its powerful peaty notes and authentic, maritime character. The name ‘Ileach’, which means ‘inhabitant of the island of Islay’ in Gaelic, already hints at its close connection to the famous whisky island. Whilst the exact distillery remains a well-kept secret, this whisky reflects the very best Islay has to offer: peat, sea air and complex spiciness. Matured in traditional oak casks, it unfolds a balanced combination of smoke, sweetness and spicy notes. Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Intense peaty smoke, maritime notes, spicy oak, subtle vanilla and a hint of citrus.

Palate: Full-bodied and robust with dominant smoke, sweetish malt, black pepper and caramel.

Finish: Long and dry, with lingering peaty smoke, a pleasant oakiness and a hint of salt.

The Ileach Peated Islay Malt reveals its full character best when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to bring out its smoky flavours even more. It is an excellent accompaniment to smoked meats, grilled fish or strong blue cheese.
